What do you want people to know about your business?
The 2024 Fillmore County Fair will be held July 17 – 21, 2024 at the Fairgrounds in Preston.

Featured Grandstand events this year include Ranch Rodeo, Tractor Pull, Rodeo, and Demolition Derby.

Family Events will include: Arcade Games, Knocker Ball, Pedal Pull, Bounce Houses, FFA Little Farm Hands, Balloons by Kevin, Splatter Painting, and the Bubble Barron.

Beer Barn Entertainment will include: Dueling Pianos, Trouble Shooter, Red Letter Band, Rustic Moon

Other Entertainment and Exhibits will include: Pony Rides, Bingo, SWCD demonstrations, Open Class and 4-H Exhibits and West End Contests

The Fair Campground is open from April 15 – November 1

How many employees?
None, the Fillmore County Agricultural Society is managed by a Board of 14 volunteers

What do you like about having a business in Spring Valley?
We like very much including Spring Valley in the County Fair. We appreciate the advertising support of other Spring Valley business for the County Fair

Fun fact about your business?
The commercial building will be featuring all new men’s and women’s handicapped bathrooms this year with changing tables and “hot’ water! Also the drinking fountain will have a bottle filler.

Spring Valley Area Chamber Business Spotlight: Grand Meadow License Bureau

When were you established?
We (Chris and Lacie) purchased the existing license bureau from Duke Baudoin in November 2020, it was originally open back in 1998

What services are offered?
We currently offer all vehicle registation & titling services, DNR (boats/ATV/snowmobile), notary service, disability services and limited drivers license like address changes and duplicates. In 2024 we will be adding PERMIT proctor testing for anyone needing to take the Class D written test and then in 2025 we are hoping to go full service drivers license and offers renewals as well.

What do you want people to know about your business?
We are privately owned, most people do not think of DMVs as being privately owned, but we are owned and operated by people in your neighborhood, people you will get to know and people who value your business. The filing fees on your transactions stay local and support a family owned business. We take pride in our customer service and strive to make the DMV experience a positive one.

How many employees?
Michelle Hinderaker is our full time title clerk and Chris and I are employees as well.

What do you like about having a business in Spring Valley?
Although we are not located right in Spring Valley we value the relationships we have with the Spring Valley residents and businesses. We try to support your community as much as you support us and are eager to add services in order to service you better.

Fun fact about your business?
Lacie and Chris are husband and wife for 15 years and work side by side every day. Lacie’s grandma, Mary Malone ran a DMV in Rochester and licensing has always been in our family. Lacie is a third generation MN Deputy Registrar in her family and happy to be located in such a supportive community.

What do you like about having a business in Spring Valley?
Spring Valley is such a great community to have a business in. We love how much the town has to offer. Events like Ag Days, Wednesdays on Broadways, Deer Creek Speedway, Fins & Films, and numerous other attractions during the year are great for our business.

We have an awesome looking English Bulldog name “Bruce”!!
